About Us
The Building Relocation and Deconstruction Association of British Columbia (BRDABC) is a non-profit industry association dedicated to promoting and supporting responsible alternatives to demolition.
Every year approx. 2,700 single family homes are demolished across Metro Vancouver to make space for redevelopment. An additional 500 homes are demolished each year across Vancouver Island, Central Okanagan and elsewhere across the province.
On a per capita basis, Metro Vancouver is one of the demolition capital of the world. This demolition epidemic is forecast to get worse as single family properties are blanket upzoned for higher density development.
Through engagement, education, research and advocacy the BRDABC strives to help set relocation and deconstruction industry standards, remove business operation constraints, and help create policy incentives for more good homes and structures to be retained, relocated, repurposed or deconstructed.
